Adoption Process

Our adoption process emphasizes finding the right match between people and animals by considering important factors such as the adopter's home environment, interests, and lifestyle alongside the social, exercise, and training needs of the animals. Rather than employing a rigid "pass/fail" application system, we focus on education and discovery through open conversations, ensuring a positive adoption experience and fostering lasting relationships between adopters and their new companions. We recognize that each situation is unique, and we tailor our approach to meet the specific needs of every adopter and animal. While we reserve the right to decline an adoption, we are committed to addressing any concerns and assisting you in finding the most suitable companion animal. Before you decide to adopt an animal, please ensure that you meet the following criteria: - You are at least 21 years of age. - You possess a valid photo ID. - You are permitted to have a cat or dog in your residence (proof of home ownership or a copy of your lease that includes a pet clause is required). - You are prepared to invest the time and financial resources needed to provide training, medical care, and proper care for the animal. - You can provide veterinary references from your current and past veterinarians. Please allow 4 to 5 business days for our adoption counselors to thoroughly process your application. Animals still listed on our website are available for adoption, while those with pending adoptions will be marked as "Pending." Once an animal is adopted, it will no longer be listed as available but will appear under "Successes." Our adoption fees are as follows: - $100 for a cat - $250 for a dog - $300 for a puppy - $65 for a rabbit - $25 for a guinea pig All animals are spayed or neutered if they are old enough, and microchipping for cats and dogs is included in the adoption fee. If an animal is adopted before it is old enough for spaying or neutering, a refundable deposit of $50 will be required in addition to the adoption fee. This deposit will be refunded upon submission of proof of the spaying or neutering, as stipulated in the adoption agreement. A copy of the veterinarian's invoice detailing the surgery or a note from the veterinarian is typically sufficient. We also offer discounts for multiple adoptions on the same day, such as adopting two cats or a mother and her kitten.
