One of A Kind is dedicated to creating a "no kill" community where all pets have loving homes. We focus on saving the lives of animals at risk of euthanasia and enhancing the lives of people through rescue efforts, spaying and neutering, adoption, and advocacy for homeless pets. We provide care and shelter to animals until they find their forever homes.

Adoption process

Owning a pet is a lifelong commitment. It is important to carefully consider the time and financial responsibilities involved in pet ownership before deciding to adopt. The adoption process at OOAK is comprehensive, requiring an Adoption Application and an interview to ensure a suitable match between the animal and the adopter. All animals available for adoption are spayed or neutered and receive complete veterinary care. Our adoption staff will review any relevant medical or behavioral information about the animal, explain the policies and services available to adopters, and collect the adoption fees. These fees typically range from $25 to $350. To finalize the adoption, a contract must be signed by the adopter.
