Eskie Rescuers United is a nationwide, volunteer-run, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming American Eskimo dogs. Located in Copley, Ohio, in Summit County, the rescue operates about 7 miles east of Akron, Ohio, alongside 16 other animal shelters and rescues in the county. Since opening in March 2003, ERU has rescued and rehomed over 2,000 orphaned Eskies through a network of volunteer fosters across the country who provide medical care and find loving homes. The organization holds a special passion for senior and special-needs Eskies, often welcoming dogs who have been surrendered or abandoned in their golden years, and offers a dedicated Senior Program for adopters.
