In operation since 1957, the humane society has been a friend to over 15,000 animals in need since 2010, sheltering and caring for stray and surrendered animals in the community. Its mission includes preventing cruelty to animals, reuniting lost pets with their owners, adopting animals into qualified homes or placing them with reputable rescue organizations, and educating the public on responsible pet ownership and population control. Appointments are strongly encouraged for adopters so staff can offer one-on-one attention, since some animals are housed outside the main facility.
