The National Foundation for Animal Rescue in Saddle River, NJ
The National Foundation for Animal Rescue (NFFAR) is a no-kill rescue organization based in Saddle River, New Jersey, in Bergen County, about 10 miles southwest of Paterson. It provides sanctuary, medical assistance, foster homes, and adoption services for abandoned, missing, feral, abused, and neglected cats and dogs, serving the New Jersey metro area and beyond. NFFAR never turns away an animal due to cost, evaluating each case with the animal's welfare as the top priority, and its adoptable pets are assessed for temperament, tested for disease, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped before being placed with adopters committed to lifelong care. Ten other animal shelters and rescues also operate in Bergen County, where NFFAR continues its mission that no animal should be euthanized simply because it is homeless.
