Adoption process

Adoption Fees: Dogs: $100.00 Cats: $45.00 Puppies: $75 plus a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit Kittens: $30 plus a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit Rabbits: $35 Adoption Process Our knowledgeable and friendly team of staff and volunteers is available to provide tours of the shelter and discuss the best match for your home among our animals. For information on our location and visiting hours, please inquire directly. The JSAC has established policies for the placement of young animals and certain dominant breed dogs, including Rottweilers, Shepherds, and Akitas. We prioritize homes located in Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Southern New York, and Northern Delaware, as we do not ship animals. This regional preference helps us remain a supportive resource for both the animals and their adopters. These policies and procedures are designed to protect everyone involved and are standard practices for rehoming animals, whether through a shelter or rescue group. Please note that we do not facilitate same-day adoptions. We conduct a thorough review of each application to ensure that the home has provided good care for any existing pets, that the animal is allowed in the home, and that it is the right fit for the household. This process typically takes 24 to 48 hours. If a dog application is approved and there are other dogs in the home, we will arrange for the dogs to meet, often multiple times if necessary.
