About this shelter

Rescued Racers in Saint Louis, MO

Rescued Racers is a rescue organization based in Saint Louis, Missouri, located in St. Louis County, roughly 10 miles southeast of St. Louis, MO, alongside 21 other animal shelters and rescues in the county. The group focuses on rescuing greyhounds, including retired racing dogs and lurcher (greyhound mix) hounds, many of whom come off greyhound farms where they've lived outdoors in extreme temperatures. Rescued Racers places special emphasis on senior hounds—dogs eight years or older—and relies on foster homes to bring more of these older dogs in for adoption. Adoptable dogs are showcased on the organization's Facebook page, and prospective adopters are encouraged to fill out an adoption application and consider fostering as well.
