About this shelter

Tri-County Humane Society in St. Cloud, MN

The Tri-County Humane Society, led by its executive director since 1984, has made significant progress in improving animal welfare over the years. When the director first took on this role, the situation was challenging, which motivated a commitment to effect positive change. The organization has successfully implemented various strategies to reduce the euthanasia rate, achieving an impressive year-to-date placement rate of 95.6%. Technology has played a vital role in these advancements, helping to enhance operations and outcomes for the animals in their care.

Adopting from Tri-County Humane Society

Adoption process

Our adoption fees vary, with some adult cats available for free to seniors, veterans, and military personnel. While it is uncommon, fees can go as high as $500. Pocket pets, including hamsters, gerbils, and mice, start at $5. The fees for puppies, kittens, and other highly sought-after animals are set higher to help cover the care of those that are more challenging to place. During the warmer months, when we have a surplus of kittens, we often have promotions, such as adopting two for the price of one. The adoption fees include the following services: spaying or neutering, vaccinations, de-worming, a basic examination, a behavior evaluation, and a 24-hour Petwatch microchip. We also provide treatment for ear mites, fleas, ticks, lice, mites, and infections as needed.
