GreyHeart Greyhound Rescue and Adoption of Michigan is a rescue organization based in Livonia, Michigan, located in Wayne County, about 3 miles southeast of Detroit. The organization is devoted to placing retired racing greyhounds into responsible, pro-racing homes, and it operates as a chapter of Greyhound Pets of America (GPA), the largest greyhound adoption organization in North America. Prospective adopters must fill out an adoption/foster application, read required reading material, and complete an in-home interview before being approved; a $650 adoption fee covers vetting, spay/neuter, dental cleaning, collar/leash, and pedigree, and no on-the-spot adoptions are allowed (a 24-hour waiting period applies after a dog is shown).
