Michigan Humane is a humane society located in Detroit, Michigan, about 3 miles south of the city. The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 12:00–6:00 PM, Thursday from 1:00–7:00 PM, and Sunday from 12:00–4:00 PM. Its mission is to improve and save lives through compassionate care, community engagement, and advocacy for animals, while working to protect animals and strengthen societal respect and compassion for them. Michigan Humane helps dogs, cats, rabbits, and other animals through adoption, veterinary care, cruelty investigation and rescue, and community support programs, and has found homes for more than 15,000 pets to date.

Adoption process
To adopt, you must be at least 18 with valid photo ID; you browse or visit pets in person, meet with an adoption counselor to discuss your home and lifestyle, then complete paperwork (about one hour) and payment, with same-day adoption typical if the pet is already spayed/neutered.
