Great Dane Rescue, Inc. is a nonprofit rescue organization based in Plymouth, Michigan, in Wayne County, about 3 miles southeast of Detroit, where it shares the county with 14 other animal shelters and rescues. Established in 1993, the organization is staffed entirely by volunteers who dedicate their spare time to saving Great Danes. Its mission is to place neglected and unwanted Great Danes into loving, permanent homes, with a coverage area spanning Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, the Toledo area of Ohio, and Ontario, Canada. Beyond adoptions, the group works to be a strong advocate for the breed and relies on a network of foster homes to care for dogs until they find their forever families.
