American Brittany Animal Rescue operates out of Placerville, California, in El Dorado County, roughly 30 miles southwest of Sacramento, and is one of eight animal shelters and rescues serving that county. As part of the National Brittany Rescue and Adoption Network, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit network of volunteers across the United States and Canada, the organization is dedicated to rescuing and rehoming homeless American Brittanys, affectionately known as "Britts." The group relies on foster homes as its lifeline for saving dogs and runs two dedicated adoption programs, including a Seniors to Seniors initiative pairing adopters age 60 and older with senior Brittanys nine years or older. All donations to support medical care, fostering, and adoption efforts are tax deductible.
