Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Hancock County

We are a life-saving shelter dedicated to serving local animal populations and pet owners. As an independent nonprofit organization, our mission is to promote animal welfare through the protection, sheltering, and placement of companion animals into responsible and loving homes. We also focus on humane education within the community and advocate for animal welfare on local, state, and national levels. We believe it is our responsibility to the community to protect and provide shelter for lost, abandoned, and relinquished animals. We offer adoption opportunities for all animals in our care and promote the well-being of all living creatures through education. Our efforts include preventing cruelty to animals and encouraging kindness toward them. We educate the public about pet overpopulation and the importance of proper animal care, and we campaign for the spaying and neutering of all companion animals. Additionally, we fund a low-cost spay/neuter program in collaboration with local veterinarians. Our commitment stems from our love for animals, and we believe that with the right resources and education, our community can learn to treat all animals with respect and care.
