Ninna's Road to Rescue in Benton, LA
Ninna's Road to Rescue is a rescue organization based in Benton, Louisiana, located in Bossier Parish, about 15 miles southwest of Shreveport, with 2 other animal shelters or rescues also serving Bossier Parish. Founded in March 2012, this 501(c)3 non-profit operates out of a converted home to help dogs adjust before moving into their forever homes, and rescues and rehomes approximately 400 dogs each year, focusing primarily on small-breed dogs from kill-shelters in Northwest Louisiana, retiring breeder dogs, owner-surrenders, and strays. Adoptions are by appointment only for approved adopters with an excellent pet ownership history and veterinary reference, and the organization also partners with Bossier City Animal Control to help more dogs and cats find adoption or rescue. The shelter is a strong advocate for spaying, neutering, and responsible pet ownership.
