For-Ever Home Bloodhound Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue in Doyline, Louisiana, located in Webster Parish, roughly 20 miles west of Shreveport, and it is one of two animal shelters/rescues serving Webster Parish. Founded and run by Karen Ponder, a former Rescue Director for the South Central Bloodhound Club, the sanctuary is dedicated exclusively to rescuing, sheltering, and rehoming Bloodhounds, matching each dog to a family based on lifestyle fit. It currently accepts only owner surrenders (with a donation) for dogs current on vaccinations and heartworm testing, and it relies solely on private donations, gifts, and small fundraisers to operate. Beyond adoption, the sanctuary places strong emphasis on educating the public about the true needs of the breed in order to reduce the number of Bloodhounds abandoned or surrendered to shelters.
