Adoption Process
Prospective adopters begin by completing an adoption application online. Our staff will then match them with a suitable collie. A home visit is required prior to placement. Once approved, adopters will sign an adoption contract and pay an adoption fee, which ranges from $150 for older dogs to $300 for puppies.

Collie Rescue of Greater Illinois, Inc. is a nonprofit organization founded in 1995. We offer shelter and care for purebred Collies that have been abandoned or surrendered to shelters. These Collies are placed in temporary foster homes while we seek permanent homes for them. Our mission is to find the best possible permanent homes to give these dogs a second chance at life. We have successfully placed Collies ranging in age from five weeks to twelve years. Families interested in adopting a Collie will undergo an interview process, during which we gather basic information about the family, their history with pet ownership, and their reasons for wanting a Collie. Our aim is to ensure a successful match between the Collie and the adopting family, as we strive for a happy outcome in every rescue story. This involves carefully selecting a Collie that fits well with the lifestyle and needs of the adopting family.
