Animals Deserving of Proper Treatment (A.D.O.P.T.) Pet Shelter is located in Naperville, Illinois, in DuPage County, roughly 4 miles southeast of Naperville, alongside 17 other animal shelters and rescues in the county. Founded in 1989 by a group of passionate volunteers, A.D.O.P.T. has placed over 30,000 dogs and cats into permanent, loving homes, rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs, cats, and small animals. Beyond adoptions, the shelter runs a Community Clinic that has performed more than 10,000 spay/neuter procedures since 2009, and it offers behavioral training programs in partnership with Positive Solutions for A Sound Beginning NFP to help pets and owners build lasting bonds.
