Paws Cat Shelter in Putnam, CT
Paws Cat Shelter is a no-kill, all-volunteer cat and kitten rescue located in Putnam, Connecticut, about 20 miles east of Woonsocket, RI. The rescue began at the pound in Lebanon in 2003 and opened its own shelter in 2011, continuing its work under a new team since 2017. Paws works closely with animal control officers, veterinarians, and other rescue groups, placing about 900 cats and kittens into adoptive homes each year, and is committed to saving all savable pets in its care rather than euthanizing healthy or treatable animals. The shelter is open Wednesdays from 4:00 to 5:30 PM.
