Feathered Sanctuary Exotic Bird Rescue is a nonprofit bird rescue located in Bird in Hand, Pennsylvania, about 25 miles northeast of Reading, PA. The organization takes in and rehabilitates exotic parrots that have been surrendered, providing veterinary care and food before matching each bird with a new forever home; adoptions are made to families that the bird itself chooses, and boarding is offered to previously adopted birds and others as space allows. Visits are by appointment only, with open hours Monday through Thursday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Friday and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The rescue operates out of space provided by That Pet Place and relies on donations and volunteers to continue caring for its birds.
