Turtle Rescue of the Hamptons in Jamesport, NY
Turtle Rescue of the Hamptons is a rescue organization located in Jamesport, New York, open daily from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, about 30 miles northwest of New Haven, CT. Founded by Karen Testa, this 501(c)(3) nonprofit is the only licensed wildlife hospital in New York that specializes in native turtles, drawing on over 34 years of combined experience to rescue, rehabilitate, and release sick and injured turtles from the East End of Long Island. The organization also runs a 24-hour hotline and works to educate the public about the conservation and critically endangered status of native turtle species worldwide. Its work is funded solely by charitable contributions.
