Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue is an equine sanctuary in Dover Plains, New York, located about 30 miles east of Waterbury, CT, and open daily from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Guided by the mission "People Helping Horses Heal People," the rescue has cared for horses, along with some sheep and goats, since opening its barn doors in 2008, offering lifelong care and rehabilitation rather than simple rehoming. Beyond sheltering animals, Lucky Orphans strengthens the bond between people and animals through programs such as Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, Equine Assisted Reiki, and Equine Assisted Corporate Development.
