Happy Life Animal Rescue in Pawling, NY
Happy Life Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, foster-based rescue located in Pawling, New York, about 30 miles east of Waterbury, CT. Founded in 2016, it began as a small effort and has grown into a limited-intake rescue serving the Hudson Valley and beyond, dedicated to rescuing homeless dogs and cats who are victims of abuse, neglect, and shelter overpopulation. The rescue helps 600–700 animals find homes each year and operates entirely on donations and sponsorships, with no government grants or outside funding. It's open Tuesday through Friday from 12:00–7:00 PM, Saturday 11:00 AM–2:00 PM, and Sunday 11:00 AM–1:00 PM.

Adoption process
Prospective adopters register online (form doesn't hold an animal), then visit the Pawling center or a weekend adoption event, where an adoption counselor discusses their needs and introduces suitable dogs or cats; adopters must be 18+, renters are welcome, and most animals go home the same day.
