Toledo Animal Rescue is a nonprofit rescue organization located about 5 miles east of Toledo, Ohio, at 640 Wyman St. Established in 1927, it is Toledo's oldest no-kill rescue, providing food, shelter, medical treatment, and loving care to homeless and abandoned dogs and cats until they find forever homes. As a 501(c)(3), it receives no local, state, or federal funding and relies on community support, adoptions, and a mandatory spay/neuter program to carry out its mission. The rescue is open daily from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM and works to match each animal with the best appropriate adopter in the animal's best interest.

Adoption process

Applicants submit an adoption application for an animal they're interested in, the rescue reviews it and schedules an appointment to meet the animal, and approval may take a few days; the rescue chooses the best-suited adopter and can refuse an adoption at any time, with adoption finalized only after paperwork is completed and fees are paid.
