Knox County Dog Shelter in Mount Vernon, OH
The Knox County Dog Shelter is located at 285 Columbus Road in Mount Vernon, Ohio, about 40 miles southwest of Columbus. It is funded and managed by Knox County, working in close cooperation with the Knox County Humane Society to re-home as many dogs as possible, with staff and volunteers dedicated to maintaining the health of every dog in the shelter. The shelter is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and closed Sundays and holidays. Its $120 adoption fee covers a current-year dog license, Bordetella, DHPP, and Rabies vaccines, spay/neuter surgery, a heartworm test and one month of preventative heartworm medication, and a microchip with registration.
