Ozarks Kat and K9 Shelter is a non-profit 501(c)3 no-kill animal shelter located in Sunrise Beach, Missouri, about 60 miles northeast of Columbia, MO, serving cats and dogs at the Lake of the Ozarks. The shelter building is open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and it also operates an on-site thrift store to support its work. Visitors are invited to stop by and meet adoptable pets in person or view available animals online, and the shelter hosts community events such as fundraisers and adoption meetups throughout the year. Its work is supported by partners including the Bissell Pet Foundation and Best Friends.

Adoption process

Submit an adoption application (application review takes about 24-48 hours), and once approved you can adopt with fees of $150 for dogs/puppies ($225 for a pair) and $60 for cats/kittens ($90 for a pair); same-day adoptions are not done, so pre-approval is recommended before traveling to meet a pet.
