About this shelter

Secaucus Animal Shelter in Secaucus, NJ

The Secaucus Animal Shelter, located in Secaucus, New Jersey, is dedicated to saving animals, with a mission to rescue abandoned, abused, and injured animals, rehabilitate them, have them vaccinated and spayed or neutered, and find them loving adoptive homes. It sits about 5 miles southeast of Jersey City, NJ, and is open Monday through Friday from 12:00 to 2:30 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 to 4:30 PM. The shelter evaluates all rescues for behavior and physical problems before clearing them for adoption, and it believes raising public awareness of responsible pet ownership is the most effective way to address the problem of abandoned animals. Volunteers play an important role at the shelter, with just two hours a week able to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the animals in its care.
