About this shelter

Bay State Equine Rescue, Inc. in Oakham, MA

Bay State Equine Rescue, Inc. is a horse rescue and rehabilitation organization based in Oakham, Massachusetts, about 15 miles southeast of Worcester. Founded in 2002, its mission is to preserve equine integrity through care that addresses the physical, mental, and emotional health of horses, with a focus on rescuing and rehabilitating equines who are without a human advocate, abused, neglected, or abandoned. Beyond direct animal care, the organization works to raise public awareness of equine neglect through youth education, legislation, horsemanship education, animal care awareness, and community service opportunities. It also aims to build a model of excellence that can be duplicated by rescues nationwide to help end mistreatment of horses.
