About this shelter

American Bullmastiff Association Rescue Services in Templeton, MA

ABARS is dedicated to finding homes for Bullmastiffs that are unwanted due to changes in their owners' lifestyles or financial situations. We accept dogs from shelters, as well as those surrendered by owners. In some cases, we may also receive Bullmastiffs that have been abandoned at veterinary clinics or rescued by individuals who have made efforts to locate the original owners. It is important to note that ABARS does not serve as a placement service for unwanted or returned dogs from our members. We do accept owner surrenders from individuals who have acquired their dogs from pet shops or backyard breeders; however, the majority of the dogs we place are of unknown origin and age. ABARS will not re-home any Bullmastiff with a history of aggression towards adults or children. We only accept Bullmastiffs and do not place mixed breeds. All Bullmastiffs are neutered or spayed prior to adoption and receive necessary veterinary care to ensure they are in good health.
