About this shelter
Clay County Animal Shelter in Henrietta, TX
Clay County Animal Shelter is a no-kill shelter in Henrietta, Texas, located about 60 miles north of Lawton, OK. Also known as "Annie's Dream," it was founded in 2000 by Clay County residents Annie McClintock along with veterinarians Drs. Steve and Polly McDonald, with a mission to provide an alternative to euthanizing abandoned cats and dogs in the county. The shelter houses 40 dogs and 45 cats, rescues all breeds, and adopts out around 60 animals per year, with veterans receiving free adoptions with a VA card. It is open daily from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and its staff and animal handlers work to train the animals and find them forever homes, no matter how long it takes.
