S.E.K. Humane Society is a no-kill animal shelter located in Pittsburg, Kansas, roughly 80 miles east of Springfield, MO. Operating since 1973 as the Southeast Kansas Humane Society of Crawford County, it is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to rescuing homeless and endangered pets and reducing animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment through rescue, adoption, education, and population control. The shelter is typically at capacity with around 100 animals, and every adoptable dog and cat is spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations before going to a new home, with foster-to-adopt trials available for most animals. It's open to the public Friday and Saturday from 12:00–4:00 PM and Sunday from 1:00–4:00 PM.
