Central Nebraska Humane Society is a nonprofit animal shelter located about 2 miles southwest of Grand Island, Nebraska. It is open Monday through Friday from 12:00–6:00 PM, Saturday from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM, and Sunday from 1:00–4:00 PM. Now marking 60 years of service, CNHS works to protect, enrich, and advocate for the lives of animals and the people who love them through compassionate care, meaningful connections, and community partnerships across Central Nebraska. Beyond adoptions of dogs, cats, and other animals, the shelter provides pet licensing, microchipping, vaccination clinics, and lost-and-found reunification services, relying on community donations to fund its work.
