Adoption Process
Adoptable pets are available on a first-come-first-served basis at the Pieloch Pet Adoption Center during posted hours, with all adoption fees including a health exam, spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and parasite treatment; questions can be directed to the shelter by phone.

Capital Humane Society Pieloch Pet Adoption Center serves the Lincoln, Nebraska community from its location roughly six miles northwest of the city at 6500 S. 70th Street. As a humane society, it provides resources and support for pet owners, cares for displaced animals, and connects homeless pets with families through adoption. The center is open Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 to 5:00 PM. Beyond adoptions, Capital Humane Society offers foster care, humane education, and low-cost veterinary services through its affiliated Stransky Veterinary Center.
