Nebraska No Kill Canine Rescue in Lincoln, NE
Nebraska No Kill Canine Rescue is a dog rescue located in Lincoln, Nebraska, within Lancaster County, roughly 4 miles northwest of the city, where 7 other animal shelters or rescues also operate. Founded in 2010 by a small group of volunteers, this 501(c)3 nonprofit operates as a foster-based, no-kill rescue that takes in dogs of all breeds and has rehomed more than 800 dogs with a 97 percent adoption success rate. Foster dogs are fully vetted before placement, with medical expenses covered by the rescue until an adopter is found, and the organization relies heavily on community support from Lincoln-area fosters and adopters. Nebraska No Kill Canine Rescue also partners with other local organizations, including the Capital Humane Society, to help place hard-to-adopt dogs.

Adopting from Nebraska No Kill Canine Rescue
Adoption process
Applicants fill out an adoption application, then a volunteer reviews it, references are checked, a home visit is scheduled, and a "meet and greet" with the dog is arranged; if it's a good fit, an adoption contract is signed and an adoption donation is collected (sometimes via a Foster to Adopt trial period).
