Adoption Process
The adoption process begins with a preliminary screening of applicants, followed by a comprehensive interview that includes checks of the yard and photographs. It is required that the yard is fully fenced and at least five feet high. Applicants must have experience with large dog breeds and must have an adult dog in the home if adopting a puppy. Homeownership or confirmed approval from a landlord is necessary, and applicants must agree to return the animal to the rescue if they need to surrender it. The use of electric collars or fencing is not permitted. A thorough veterinary check is conducted to ensure that any current pets are up to date on vaccinations and spayed or neutered. Applicants must also agree to provide training and socialization for the adopted pet. A final interview with the foster parent will be conducted to ensure a good fit between the animal and the adopter. Adoption fees are $400 for puppies, $325 for adults, and $275 for seniors, with a transport fee of $250. All animals will be spayed or neutered and brought up to date on vaccinations before adoption. A health certificate will be obtained prior to transport. If the potential adopter is deemed a suitable match, a meet and greet will be arranged, with the hope that the puppy finds a loving new family.
