Adoption Process

The adoption process begins with the submission of an online application. A volunteer will then review your application, which includes conducting a background check on all adults living in your home, checking personal references, contacting your landlord if you are renting, and reaching out to your veterinarian if you have current pets. Next, you will have a virtual call with a volunteer to discuss your application answers, provide more information about Nirvana Animal Rescue, conduct a virtual home visit, and address any questions you may have. If your application successfully passes these steps, the final stage will involve arranging a meeting for your entire family, including any resident dogs, with the dog you wish to adopt. It is a requirement that all family members meet the potential new dog before the adoption is fully approved. All dogs from Nirvana Animal Rescue are spayed or neutered if they are of age, up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, and are microchipped. The adoption fees are as follows: Puppies aged 0 to 5 months are $400, adults aged 6 months to 6 years are $350, and seniors aged 7 years and older are $200.
