Adoption Process
Adoption fees depend on the breed, age, and any existing health issues of the animals. We waive fees for dogs that are being trained to serve as service or therapy dogs for veterans. Prior to meeting any of our foster animals, you must have an approved adoption application.
Service Areas
We have no restrictions as long as we can verify your residence and you are able to appear in person to complete the adoption. Our foster homes are located throughout the Greater Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area.
Homeward Bound Animal Rescue in Mechanicsburg, PA
We are an organization dedicated to rescuing pregnant dogs or mothers who have recently given birth in kill shelters or who have been found as strays. Our volunteers provide care for both the puppies and the mothers in their homes. We nurture the puppies from birth until they are placed in new homes. Prior to adoption, the mothers receive comprehensive veterinary care. The adoption fees collected for the puppies frequently contribute to the mothers' treatment, ensuring they are healthy and prepared for their new families.
