PAWS - Preservation of Animal Welfare & Safety in Camp Hill, PA
PAWS – Preservation of Animal Welfare & Safety is an animal shelter based in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, in Cumberland County, located about 4 miles northeast of Harrisburg. It operates with a no-kill philosophy, focused on rescuing, fostering, and finding permanent homes for stray, abused, abandoned, and otherwise homeless animals, while also facilitating spay and neuter services for owned and unowned animals. Its vision is a time when there are no homeless companion animals in south-central Pennsylvania, and it works toward this through adoption programs, volunteer efforts, and community education on reducing animal overpopulation. Four other animal shelters and rescues also serve Cumberland County alongside PAWS.

Adoption process
Interested adopters complete an adoption application form for the specific animal, after which an adoption counselor helps match them with a suitable pet; applications are reviewed individually and cannot be processed the same day, and all animals must be spayed or neutered before going home, with adoptions finalized via an adoption contract.
