Adoption Process

Stray Paws Rescue is dedicated to rescuing dogs of various sizes, breeds, and personalities and matching them with wonderful individuals from diverse backgrounds, ultimately creating new families with each adoption. We have successfully saved hundreds of dogs, thanks to the support of our incredible adopters. Our adoption process involves a thorough application procedure to ensure that our rescue dogs find loving, permanent homes. We conduct reference checks, including veterinary checks for any existing pets, as well as personal interviews and home inspections to ensure a perfect match between our dogs and potential adopters. Our adoption fees are as follows: $300 for dogs 6 months or younger $250 for dogs 7 months to 6 years old $175 for dogs over 7 years old As a foster-based rescue, we do not operate a shelter. To begin the adoption process, please complete our adoption application at www.straypawsrescue.com/adoption-application. If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, we recommend submitting your application, as we review all applications before proceeding with adoptions.

STRAY PAWS RESCUE in St. Peters, MO

Stray Paws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on fostering and rescuing dogs. We are committed to protecting and enhancing the lives of these animals. Our efforts include rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters and from the streets of St. Louis, where we also provide care for strays by feeding them and setting humane traps for lost or abandoned pets. Additionally, we rescue dogs from unsafe living conditions to ensure their safety. We offer spay and neuter services along with necessary medical care, as many of the dogs we rescue have suffered neglect or have been living on the streets for extended periods, requiring veterinary attention and specialized treatments. We collaborate with some of the leading veterinarians in St. Louis to provide this care. Our mission is to save lives, educate the community on humane treatment and training of pets, and find suitable matches between the animals in our care and potential adoptive families. As an all-volunteer, foster-based organization, we do not operate a physical shelter. We rely entirely on donations and adoption fees to support our mission, and we are always in need of contributions to help as many homeless and abandoned animals as possible. Our team is deeply committed to rescuing dogs in need. We have a strong passion for all animals and are dedicated to alleviating the suffering of abused and neglected dogs that often go unwanted.
