Adoption Process

Families interested in adopting an animal from Charlyne's Pound Puppies are required to complete a two-page application form to provide information about themselves. Following this, they will participate in an interview with two of our volunteers. This process ensures that the animal is placed in a suitable home and that the animal is a good match for the adopting family. Please note that we do not transport pets out of state. The adoption fee for dogs is $100, which includes a coupon for spaying or neutering if the animal is not yet old enough for the procedure. Please be aware that these prices are subject to change without prior notice.

Charlyne's Pound Puppies is a non-profit rescue organization dedicated to addressing the pet over-population crisis in the United States, where thousands of healthy, adoptable animals are euthanized each day. Founded by Charlyne McDaniel in 1995, our volunteer-run group focuses on rescuing abandoned dogs and cats from Thorndale, Texas, and the surrounding areas of Austin. We do not transport animals out of state. If you adopt a pet from us and find that it does not fit into your family or lifestyle, we welcome the return of the animal so we can help find it a suitable home.
