Adoption Process

The adoption process begins with an initial meeting between the prospective adopters and the dog. If the adopters have another dog, a second meeting will take place at their home. If both parties feel it is a good match, the next step is to complete an application. We will then contact references and arrange a home visit to ensure a suitable environment for the dog. Once everything is in order, a contract will be signed. At this time, we will remind adopters of the two-week adjustment period and that the dog must be returned to us at any time if necessary. Adoption fees vary: there is no charge for hospice or senior dogs, $100 for younger seniors, and between $150 and $350 for adults or younger dogs, depending on the extent of veterinary care provided.

Our organization is focused exclusively on dogs within this local area. We do not transport or adopt dogs from or to out-of-state locations. While we prioritize hospice care, senior dogs, and those with medical needs, we are willing to accommodate any dog for which we have an available foster home that meets its specific requirements.
