Adoption Process

The adoption process begins with the completion of an application. Once the application is submitted, it will be reviewed. If the application meets our criteria, we will contact the potential adopter. If we determine that it is a suitable match, we will request that the applicant provide pictures of their home, a requirement implemented since COVID-19. Next, we will reach out to a personal reference and contact the applicant's veterinarian. We will then arrange a call between the foster caregiver and the potential adopter. If the adoption is approved, we will send a contract along with a link to the donation URL.

Paws From Afar is a 501(c)(3) foster-based non-profit organization operating in New England. Our mission is to rescue and find homes for dogs at risk of abandonment, abuse, or euthanasia. We collaborate with rescue organizations in the southern United States to transport and foster animals from regions where the euthanasia rate can reach nearly 70 percent due to limited space and funding. With your support, we can continue to rescue and care for these remarkable dogs. Each dog is unique, and we are committed to finding them their ideal forever home.
