Adoption Process

The adoption process differs based on the type of animal being adopted. To start, all prospective adopters must complete an adoption application. This application will be reviewed, and if it aligns well with the needs of the animal, it will be approved, leading to the arrangement of a meet and greet. For cats and small animals, adoption can occur at the time of the meet and greet, provided that an adoption agreement is signed and the adoption fee is paid. For dogs, home visits will be conducted after the meet and greet. The specific requirements for each adoption depend on the individual needs of the animals, as our goal is to facilitate the best and most permanent placements possible. Adoption fees vary according to the type of animal being adopted.

Twin Cities Pet Rescue is a nonprofit organization recognized as a 501(c)(3) that is dedicated to rescuing homeless, abandoned, and abused dogs, cats, and small animals that are frequently overlooked by potential adopters and other rescues. Many of these animals are sick, older, or have special needs. We place all our animals in foster homes where they receive rehabilitation and veterinary care before being placed for adoption.
