About this shelter

The Bitty Kitty Brigade in St. Paul, MN

The Bitty Kitty Brigade is a foster-based rescue organization dedicated to caring for orphaned neonatal kittens in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, and surrounding areas. Our mission is to provide essential care for these vulnerable kittens while collaborating with animal rescue organizations and impound facilities to enhance survival rates within the neonatal population. We specifically care for kittens aged 0 to 6 weeks who are without mothers and unable to eat independently. As a no-kill organization, we ensure that all kittens are housed in foster homes where they receive high-quality nutrition and appropriate medical care. Whenever possible, we transfer kittens to partner rescues that share our commitment to humane treatment, including policies against declawing and promoting indoor living. Kittens remain in our care until they reach adoption age at 12 weeks, at which point they are spayed or neutered and given all necessary age-appropriate vaccinations. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we rely solely on donations and grants for funding and operate entirely through the efforts of volunteers. We receive kittens from local impounds, area rescues, individual rescuers, and other community members.
