Adoption Process

Potential adopters are required to complete an application form that includes information regarding declawing, which we do not support. We will contact references and previous veterinarians, as well as conduct a background check for any legal issues. The Board of Directors will then review and approve the application. Once approved, the animal will be taken to the adopter's home, where a home visit will be conducted. If the visit is satisfactory, the animal will be placed in the new home. A two-week trial period follows to ensure that the match is ideal. During this period, either the adopter or our organization can remove the animal from the home. After the trial period, the adoption will be considered final.

Purr-Fect Match Animal Rescue, Inc. in Kohler, WI

PFM was established by three individuals who collectively possess over 30 years of experience in animal rescue. We have identified a gap in current rescue and shelter efforts, and our goal is to address this gap. One of our primary objectives is to educate the public about animal behavior, which we believe will help reduce the number of animals surrendered to shelters in our community. We plan to offer an online platform where animals, thoroughly vetted by our team, can be showcased to potential adopters, who will also undergo a similar vetting process. Additionally, we encounter animals in urgent need of rescue and operate as a limited foster-based organization, accepting animals as soon as a foster home is available. We adhere to strict protocols regarding vaccinations, testing, preventative care, spaying/neutering, and microchipping. All animals available for adoption through our foster homes will be current on vaccinations and tests. We spay or neuter younger animals between four and six months of age, and older animals immediately upon intake. Each PFM member has prior fostering experience, and we are committed to our mission: "Purr-Fect Match Animal Rescue is dedicated to the sanctity of all living things and their inherent right to a happy, healthy, and humane life." We aim to fulfill this mission one animal and one forever home at a time.
