Clay County Humane Society, established in 1978, is a private non-profit animal welfare organization located in Orange Park, Florida, roughly 15 miles northeast of Jacksonville. Its mission is to provide and promote the humane treatment of animals through education, advocacy, and service, with a focus on preventing cruelty, relieving animal suffering, and extending humane education. The organization runs a low-cost, full-service veterinary clinic and after-hours urgent care, along with spay and neuter programs, including free weekly spay/neuter services for feral cats, and has provided veterinary care to well over 100,000 patients since 1991. Five other animal shelters and rescues also serve Clay County, Florida, where Clay Humane has become a long-standing community resource for animal welfare.
