Grateful Dogs Rescue in San Francisco, CA

Grateful Dogs Rescue is a volunteer-operated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1990 by Michelle Parris, a former volunteer with San Francisco Animal Care & Control. Her mission was to rescue dogs from the SF ACC shelter that were not available for adoption, and we continue to uphold this mission today. Instead of allowing these dogs to be euthanized, Grateful Dogs Rescue works to save as many as possible by providing foster care until suitable, loving homes are found. Our committed volunteers also assist with the animals at SFACC. Grateful Dogs Rescue is the oldest all-breed rescue group in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our adoption process is carefully designed to ensure a good match between each dog and their adopter. We aim for a successful outcome where both the human and the dog can enjoy a happy life together in a permanent home.
