Friends of Rabbits in Alexandria, VA
We are a dedicated group of professionals who, in our spare time, provide foster care for rabbits in need from local shelters that are overwhelmed. By adopting from Friends of Rabbits, individuals help save a life, allowing our volunteers to rescue another rabbit from animal control facilities. Our rabbits are often at the highest risk of euthanasia, sometimes just hours away from being put to sleep due to space limitations, behavioral issues, or physical imperfections. We do not discriminate against any shelter rabbits we accept. Our organization consists of volunteers who are passionate about rescuing rabbits and occasionally other animals in need. Our mission is to eliminate the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable companion rabbits.

Adopting from Friends of Rabbits
Adoption process
The adoption process consists of several steps. First, you will need to complete an adoption form. Next, an interview will be conducted to discuss your suitability as an adopter. Following the interview, a home visit will be arranged for new adopters to ensure a safe environment for the rabbit. Once these steps are completed, you will be required to sign a contract. The adoption fees are $75 for a single rabbit and $125 for a pair. These fees include a goodie bag containing rabbit care information, essential items, toys, and a coupon for discounted rabbit supplies, as well as covering the cost of the rabbit's spay or neuter procedure.
