Safe Place for Pets is a nonprofit organization recognized under section 501(c)(3) that specializes in the care, support, and rehoming of pets belonging to individuals with terminal illnesses. For over 20 years, we have compassionately assisted pet owners facing terminal diagnoses. We have successfully found permanent homes for more than 1,000 cherished pets while also providing essential veterinary care and support. At Safe Place for Pets, we prioritize ensuring that all animals in our care receive high-quality veterinary services. Each pet undergoes a thorough veterinary examination and is kept up-to-date on vaccinations. Additionally, all pets are spayed or neutered, and they receive a comprehensive oral health assessment and treatment as recommended by a veterinarian. This commitment ensures that every pet is healthy, happy, and ready for their new forever home.

Adopting from Safe Place for Pets

Adoption process

The adoption process consists of three steps. First, there is a meet and greet to introduce potential adopters to the animals. Next, there is a pre-adoption period, which serves as a trial phase before the adoption is finalized. Finally, once the trial period is successfully completed, the adoption can be finalized with a fee of $100 for a cat and $200 for a dog.
