Adoption Process

Adopters are required to complete an application and provide three references, as well as the contact information for their current veterinarian, if applicable. All animals are spayed or neutered and microchipped before adoption. The adoption contract includes a commitment to keep cats indoors, except in the case of adopting a feral cat intended to live in a barn. Additionally, dogs must have identification, and if an owner is unable to care for their pet any longer, the animal must be returned to LAWS.

Laramie Animal Welfare Society in Laramie, WY

We assist the City of Laramie Animal Shelter by covering medical expenses for all surrendered animals and funding spay/neuter surgeries for their adoptions. Our organization offers foster care for special needs animals and bottle-fed kittens at the shelter. We provide spay/neuter coupons to community members and operate a feral cat trap-neuter-return (TNR) program in Albany County. Additionally, we manage a kitten foster, socialization, and adoption program. We also offer compassionate fostering for community members who unexpectedly need short-term care for their pets. Furthermore, we provide low-cost microchipping services.
