Adoption Process

The adoption process consists of several steps. First, prospective adopters must complete an adoption application. Next, we conduct a review of personal and veterinary references. Following this, a home visit will be scheduled. If approved, the adopter will be matched with an adoptable dog. Once a match is made, a binding adoption contract will be signed. There will then be a two-week trial period to ensure that the match is suitable before finalizing the adoption. All dogs are spayed or neutered and are up to date on vaccinations prior to adoption. We address any medical issues, excluding chronic conditions such as diabetes and seizures, before the adoption takes place. The adoption fees are as follows: $325 for dogs 11 months old and under, $275 for dogs under six years old, and $225 for dogs six years and older.

Kentuckiana Pug Rescue (KPR) is a volunteer-driven, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to assisting Pugs in need throughout Indiana and Kentucky. Our mission is to find loving, permanent homes for both abandoned and surrendered Pugs, ensuring they can enjoy the rest of their lives in a caring environment. KPR operates without a central facility; instead, each rescued Pug is placed in a foster home until a suitable adoptive family is found.
